Vancouver Walking Tour: Yaletown & Granville Island

The best way to really get to know a city is to feel it under your feet. Let one of our expert local guides show you Vancouver up close and intimate.

We start this afternoon 3 hour tour at 2:30 PM in the heart of downtown, outside the Vancouver Art Gallery,  at 750 Hornby Street. Stroll the busy streets as your guide tells you of the dynamic nature of the west coast city. Then with a sudden turn to the right you leave the hustle and bustle of the business core and enter the neighbourhood of Yaletown.

Once a warehousing district and train yard, now the latest redevelopment. Stroll past trendy cafes, shops and galleries to edge of False Creek. This tour is a great scouting trip to find that special dinner spot or boutique you may want to return to later.

Next we board the small passenger ferry (fare included) for a cruise down False Creek, past elegant high raises, and funky floating homes to Granville Island, the artists neighbourhood and another redevelopment. The island boasts dozens of artists in gallery, everything from glass blowing and silk weaving, to classic wooden boat building and even art brooms. There is a fun public market, french bakeries, wonderful atmosphere and great restaurants ideal for lunch or dinner.

After a walk around the island, the tour ends at the public market with clear directions on the many options available, including suggestions for lunch, viewing galleries, taking in live theater performance or a return to your starting point.

This three hour tour is not private and requires only normal fitness levels. Total walking distance approximately one mile or 2.5 kms.

One of our talented local guides will show you the town up close. Leave the bus crowd behind and enjoy a personalized commentary and stroll at an easy pace.
